About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and approve electronic components (active, passive, electromechanical, semiconductor).
• Review BOMs, schematics, and AVL for component correctness, availability, and feasibility.
• Ensure component manufacturability and recommend their usage and specifications with respect to SMT, MI machines, Box Build assembly, and sourcing/supply-chain feasibility.
• Identify alternate components to address cost, lead-time, or obsolescence challenges.
• Support NPI with component availability analysis, ECN/ECO implementation, and obsolescence checks.
• Work with Sourcing, Quality, and Engineering for component qualification and sample approvals.
• Monitor compliance (RoHS/REACH/UL), PCNs, lifecycle changes, and maintain documentation.
• Engage with suppliers for datasheet clarification and technical evaluation.
• Support FA/FR activities and component-level debugging.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation or related field.
• 2–4 years of Component Engineering experience in EMS/electronics/PCBA industries.
• Knowledge of component types, derating, packaging, reliability, and datasheet interpretation.
• Basic understanding of SMT processes, MI operations, solderability, and Box Build fundamentals.
• Familiarity with BOM/AVL tools, ERP, and compliance standards.
