About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Quality across SMT, THT/MI, Wave/Selective Solder, Conformal Coating, Potting, Assembly, and Box Build.
• Drive end-to-end PCBA quality control: SPI/AOI performance, reflow quality, solder defects, FPY improvement, and yield enhancement.
• Oversee ICT/FCT test quality, FA/FR activities, troubleshooting, and debugging of component- and process-level failures.
• Establish strong root-cause analysis (RCA) frameworks—8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, DOE, and robust CAPA implementation.
• Ensure quality compliance with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 (where applicable).
• Own supplier quality management—IQC processes, component quality validation, and vendor corrective actions.
• Manage quality for coating and potting operations—material selection, thickness checks, masking quality, curing verification.
• Lead Box Build quality—mechanical fitment, harness quality, torque checks, visual inspection, and product validation.
• Drive customer quality interface, audit readiness, corrective actions, RMA handling, and customer-reported defect analysis.
• Collaborate with MES and Digital Manufacturing teams to use MES data for quality control, traceability, FPY/yield dashboards, and real-time defect monitoring.
• Set up/update SOPs, work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, and quality documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-layered quality team across shifts and functional segments.
• Improve key metrics: FPY, DPMO, rework %, line yield, customer PPM, audit findings, and on-time audit closures.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechanical (preferred).
• 15–17 years of EMS/PCBA quality experience with strong SMT/Assembly/Testing exposure.
• Strong technical understanding of SMT machines, reflow profiles, soldering standards, coating/potting processes, and Box Build workflows.
• Expertise in ICT/FCT, test debugging, failure root-cause analysis, and reliability testing.
• Exposure to MES-driven quality workflows, traceability, and digital quality reporting.
• Proficiency with statistical quality tools, ERP systems, and QMS documentation.

Preferred Certifications

• IPC-A-610 Expert/Trainer
• IPC-J-STD-001
• ISO/IATF Internal Auditor
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
• Knowledge of RoHS/REACH, UL, and regulatory standards
